My Entrepreneurial Journey
I was born in Minnesota, where my earliest years were spent learning the values of hard work, resilience, and family. At a young age, my family relocated to Arizona, where I spent much of my childhood. It was in Arizona, during those formative years, that I developed my first love for sports, competition, and the sense of discipline that would ultimately shape the direction of my life.
By time I reached Arizona in second grade, I had already experienced my first major transition in life—moving across states. Adjusting to new environments and finding ways to adapt would become a recurring theme in my journey. These early changes built a foundation of resilience that would prove valuable in every future chapter.
In 2014, my life took a pivotal turn. After years of dedication to football, I received a full-ride scholarship to Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. I packed my bags, left Arizona, and headed to Texas with a dream and a deep determination to succeed. At Texas Southern, I played safety for the Tigers, competing at the collegiate level against some of the best athletes in the nation. My time on the football field taught me about sacrifice, discipline, leadership, and perseverance—lessons that extended far beyond the game itself.
While football was my initial calling, education remained just as important. In 2018, I graduated from Texas Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. That milestone marked a major achievement in my life, as it was the culmination of years of hard work, late nights, and balancing the dual responsibilities of being a student-athlete. Even more meaningful, I became the first in my family to graduate from college—a moment of pride not only for me, but for everyone who had supported my journey.
After graduation, however, my life began to evolve in new ways. Though football had given me an identity for years, I began to discover a passion that was equally powerful: business and trading. I dove headfirst into the world of financial markets. What started as curiosity soon became an obsession. I studied the markets, learned strategies, and embraced the risks and rewards of trading. Before long, I found myself excelling in the field, building not only financial success but also the confidence to explore entrepreneurship.
At first, I began teaching a small circle of close friends what I knew about trading. Word spread quickly, and I realized that knowledge had value—especially when it could empower others. This realization led to my first official business venture: launching an online trading institution. Through that platform, I was able to educate and guide hundreds of individuals who, like me, wanted to understand how to navigate the complexities of the financial markets.
But success didn’t come overnight, nor was it a straight path. Along the way, I dabbled in multiple business ventures. Many of them failed. I lost a lot of money, and even some relationships were damaged in the process. At times, I questioned myself and wondered if the sacrifices were worth it. But every setback taught me something invaluable: persistence, adaptability, and the importance of returning to my true strengths. I came to believe that an “L” isn’t really a loss—it’s a lesson. My roots were always in helping people—whether that was on the field, in the classroom, or through entrepreneurship. Once I leaned fully into that purpose, my path became clear again.
That purpose led me back to where it all started: coaching and mentorship. Sports had given me so much throughout my life, and I felt a responsibility to pass that forward. Growing up, I didn’t have a father figure in my life, and I know firsthand how difficult it can be to try to figure out the right path without a role model to guide you. That absence is one of the biggest reasons I am so hands-on with my two boys, and with every young athlete I coach.
It began at home with my sons. I started training them first, wanting to instill in them the same discipline, toughness, and character that football had given me. As I worked with them, I noticed how their friends gravitated toward our sessions, eager to join in. What started as training my boys quickly expanded into training other kids in the community, and before long, it became clear that I had a bigger calling.
I began coaching and training young athletes not only to sharpen their skills on the field but also to prepare them for life beyond the game. My philosophy as a coach goes deeper than teaching football techniques—it’s about shaping boys into men, instilling values of discipline, respect, teamwork, and perseverance. Watching these young athletes grow both in their sport and in their character is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my journey.
Today, I’ve expanded that mission by opening a training facility in Katy, Texas. While it’s primarily geared toward youth athletes, the doors are open to anyone—young or adult—who wants to set goals and work hard to achieve them. The facility is more than just a gym; it’s a safe space for growth, development, and community. It represents my vision of combining athletic training with life mentorship, creating an environment where people can push their limits and unlock their potential.
As I look forward, I see the next phase of my life as a balance between scaling two impactful ventures. On one hand, I want to continue growing my online trading academy, where I can reach people across the globe who aspire to financial independence and literacy. On the other, I’m committed to scaling the training facility in Katy, creating opportunities for even more youth to train, learn, and thrive. Beyond these business ventures, my mission will always come back to service—finding ways to pour into the community, mentor young people, and give back to the city that has given me so much since I first arrived in 2014.
My journey so far has been defined by transitions: moving from state to state as a child, shifting from athlete to entrepreneur, and learning from failures while celebrating wins. But through it all, one theme has remained constant: a deep commitment to growth, service, and leaving a lasting impact on others. Whether through sports, education, or business, my story is about building pathways for others to succeed while continuing to challenge myself along the way.
And this, I believe, is just the beginning…..
